If you’re about to start your own laundry business, one of the major things you need to prepare for is the equipment. Choosing laundry equipment may all sound quite intimidating to do, with a lot of research to conduct. After all, there are dozens of brands and hundreds of models out there, it’s hard to narrow it down!

However, research and choosing the right models are required for more chances of success. That said, we’ll be sharing some helpful tips on how to purchase laundry equipment for your business, particularly laundry machines and dryers.

    1. The Capacity

Usually, washing machines measuring between 3-4 cubic feet can be loaded with 12-16 pounds of clothes. Those higher than 4-4.5 cubic feet can hold over 20 pounds.

Determine the capacity your business needs based on your facility’s space and the load your target audience will most likely do. This goes for both washing machines and dryers!

    1. Coin vs. Card

Coin-operated laundry machines are the traditional type of equipment that many people are familiar with. While customers are more acquainted with this type of machine, the drawback is that it’s more susceptible to theft. However, it’s more affordable and components like alliance laundry parts may be cheaper because it doesn’t have as much technology as card-operated versions.

Card-operated machines permit users to pay for their loads via credit, debit, or prepaid cards, which add to their convenience. It’s also easy for business owners to monitor transactions and cash flow. However, it’s more expensive with laundry parts from places like Laundry Replacement Parts coming at higher prices.

    1. Power

It is recommended to get laundry equipment that comes with the Energy Star stamp given by the EPA. This stamp signifies that the appliance is energy-efficient, which will help business owners save on utility bills in the long run.

    1. Front or Top Loading?

There are two kinds of washing machines:

Front-loading machines automatically measure the amount of water needed to wash a load, which saves up to 50% of water usage every cycle. These appliances can be stacked to save space in the facility. Furthermore, front load machines have lower risks of tearing fabrics, though they come at expensive prices and take more time to finish a cycle.

Top loading machines come at lower prices with quick wash-and-rinse cycles, saving time and making it more convenient for customers. However, it will need more water and energy each cycle and has a lower capacity than front-loading machines. Furthermore, the machine has a central agitator so mild materials may experience minor damage.

    1. Gas or Electric Dryers?

You’ll also need to consider the type of dryers to invest in.

Gas dryers require gas lines connected to the facility, while electric dyers will need a 240V outlet. Installing a gas-powered dryer is costly and hazardous if not done correctly. That’s why more business owners opt for electric dryers.

    Wrapping It Up

We hope you’ll be able to narrow down the laundry machines that will benefit your business.
